‘Buddhism is a path of spiritual practice that’s open to everyone. It’s an ancient tradition, with a powerful message for today’s world.’
For Buddhists, the Buddha understood the essence of our minds and how they create happiness or suffering. In that way, he embodies wisdom and compassion. He isn’t a god; he was a human being who lived 2,500 years ago and taught a path leading to Awakening or Enlightenment. A path we all can take leading to greater happiness for ourselves and kindness and compassion for others.
We practice two main meditations in Triratna: The Mindfulness of Breathing and Metta Bhavana/Loving kindness.
‘People who meditate regularly learn to access a sense of calm that is available even when life is challenging.’
Triratna is a worldwide community dedicated to following the Buddha’s path together. Practising meditation and Buddhism is much richer when it’s shared with a wider community in a spirit of friendship, encouragement, guidance and inspiration.
